I find something special about considering the reasons why I chase the dreams that I chase. I think there is value in the fact that every journey is different. This poem is a part of a new collection.

I'm here to make memories
Taking the good with the bad
I'm blessed to have experienced this path
I mean,
What more could I ask?
Born into a struggle
I chase my dreams
Off of premonition
Against the odds,
I take the moment and
Use it as ammunition
I find balance when the burdens hit
Taking steps to protect my sanity
Finding time to spend leisurely
And for the days that are a miss
It's just a flip of the mindset
Or a change of environment
and a terrible fucking day
Somehow becomes a little less terrible
There is just as much to love
As there is to hate in this world
And one of the luxuries of life
Is that I get to control
what I consume
And that I get to decide
Where to direct my focus
So when trouble knocks,
How will you approach it?
